Doll House was selected through an open call at R-Space Gallery for Materials, Messages and Meanings #11 exhibition with the theme Remember.

Exhibiting artists: Hannah Magill, Naimh Clarke, Patrick Colhoun, Rita Duffy, Susan Hughes and Zara Lyness.

The Doll’s House has meaning on several levels. They bring back memories of childhood and play. They are the female version of a curiosity cabinet, encouraging gendered learning through play. The dolls in this house are Sindy, Farah Fawcett and Lindsey Wagner/Jamie Summers (the Bionic Woman). Some of the items in the house are from my childhood, some are more recent additions. the recent additions include ceramic work and domestic items found around the home that are often used by children in play.

Along with the Doll House I also exhibited Footprints. These are porcelain foot prints with decal texts of phrases that have been said to me or that I have overheard.
