The making of tiles was inspired to a visit to the Old School House, where a colleague had found her forever home.
In a small tiled hallway, placed at random between the square red tiles, were had drawn tiles with images of animals and plants. They were simple designs based on a limited palette of blues and greens. The tiles, similar to the ceramic spheres, became things I made to occupy my hands while trying to kick start my brain. I started working the style of the old school house designs. Living in Massey-Ferguson countryside, I then progressed on to farm imagery, animals and Irish flora and fauna.
